About the Journal

The scientific journal "Plant Physiology and Genetics" (International Standard Serial Number ISSN 2308-7099 for the printed version, 2786-6874 for the online version) was founded in July 1969.

Abbreviation of the title according to ISSN for references – Fìzìol. rosl. genet.

Previous title until No. 4 2013 – "Physiology and Biochemistry of Cultivated Plants", until 2020 – "Fiziologya rastenii i genetika".

The journal publishes articles in Ukrainian and English with abstracts in Ukrainian and English.

The edition is published bimonthly – 6 issues per year.

The founders of the edition are the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine.

Aims and Scope

The scientific journal "Plant Physiology and Genetics" publishes works on the main aspects of physiology, biochemistry, genetics and plant breeding, cellular and molecular biology, biotechnology and ecology, as well as articles on the history of science, reviews of new books, information about scientific congresses, coordination meetings, anniversaries. The journal publishes only peer-reviewed articles that are completed works containing new results of theoretical and experimental research, or are reviews of the current state and topical problems in the relevant fields, and are of interest to researchers, lecturers, postgraduate students and senior students of universities.

Purpose and Objectives

The purpose of the scientific journal is to promote the development of scientific research and the dissemination of the results of fundamental and applied studies in the fields of plant physiology, biochemistry, genetics and breeding, cellular and molecular biology, biotechnology and ecology. The journal is intended to unite the scientific community, stimulate interdisciplinary research, support young scientists, and ensure international scientific communication.

Objectives of the journal

1. Publication of the results of scientific research in the field of current problems in plant physiology, biochemistry, genetics and breeding, cellular and molecular biology, biotechnology, and their applications.
2. Promotion of the development of theory and practice in technologies of crop nutrition and protection, genetic engineering, plant breeding, and cellular and molecular biotechnologies.
3. Coverage of problems and achievements across a broad spectrum of research in phytobiology, biotechnology, and genetics through the publication of articles on the history of science, reviews of new books, and information on scientific congresses, coordination meetings, and anniversaries.
4. Promotion of new approaches in agrotechnologies and cellular and molecular biotechnologies for various sectors of the economy and society.
5. Encouragement of interdisciplinary research at the interface of physiology, biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology, particularly with the aim of developing highly efficient methods for the breeding process.
6. Ensuring high standards of scientific peer review and adherence to the principles of academic integrity.
7. Supporting the integration of Ukrainian scientists into the global scientific and educational community through the publication of articles in English and participation in international cooperation in editorial board activities, manuscript peer review, etc.
8. Facilitating the professional development of young scientists, PhD candidates, and doctoral researchers through the dissemination of the results of their scientific studies.

Open Access

"Plant Physiology and Genetics" is an open access journal. According to the definition of open access in the Budapest Open Access Initiative, this means that all content of the journal is freely available free of charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or hyperlink to the full texts of the articles and use them for any other legal purposes without prior permission from the publisher or author. However, according to the Creative Commons License CC BY-NC 4.0, the material cannot be used for commercial purposes, the authors of the manuscript and the source of the publication must be properly cited. The license agreement, which must be signed by the authors, is given here in Ukrainian and English.

• Since 1995, the journal "Plant Physiology and Genetics" has been presented in the Ukrainian Abstract Journal "Dzherelo".
• The journal is presented in the electronic catalog of scientific periodicals of Ukraine on the portal of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
• The journal "Plant Physiology and Genetics" is included in the List of scientific professional editions of Ukraine in the field of biological sciences with the assignment of category "B" (approved by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 11.07.2019 No. 975).
