It was shown that development of powdery mildew lesion of the leaves of plants resistant variety Favoritka accompanied by significant intensification of superoxide dismutase activity, decrease of hydrogen peroxide content and an increase in ethylene production. The initial activity of antioxidant enzymes and hydrogen peroxide content were significantly higher than in the leaves of susceptible variety Poliska 90. This indicates that already in the early stages of lesion protection systems in the leaves of resistant variety activated more quickly and efficiently, which further limits the development of disease.
